Ever since I was a little girl I was fasinated by old photos. My grandma had an album that we couldn't touch and I used to sneak down and peak at the beautiful images. I got to know my ancestors through those photos and I got to see why my grandma fell in love with my grandpa. He was funny and charming and handsome. He wasn't the man who was blind, in a wheelchair and worn out by fighting MS for 60 years that I knew as a child. I loved those pictures. But just like everything else in life things wear out, get old, and start to fade. I want to be able to share those pictures of my grandpa with my children but in order to do that they need to be digitalized and sometimes restored.

Because I'm located in Rexburg, Idaho most of the work I do is off of already digitalized images. If you aren't sure how to get a digital copy of your image there are a few resources available. Most copy spots can scan images, the family history library downtown salt lake can help you, and most local family history centers.

If a photo is to be restored you want it to be at a high resolution. Most scanners have a standard scan of 300 dpi. Ideally, you want to scan at a higher resolution than this at 600, 800, or even 1200 dpi. This lets me zoom in on the image and fix repairs without the image turning into a bunch of blurry pixels.

My prices are based on the extent of the damage and what you are wanting to be done. But they start at $20 and if it ends up looking like more extensive restoration is required I will send you an estimate before I begin working. You will always know beforehand what the restoration will cost.
